Design for the exhibit began with the drafting of a project action plan. After deciding on the project message, intended audience, engagement strategy, and timeline, I drafted my curatorial statement to create a North Star for the exhibit. The next step included a moodboard/lookbook for site visuals, followed by a webpage development plan for all plugins and visualization tools needed.
The second phase entailed artist research, communication, and coordination to source art and curate a cohesive yet diversified showcase. I drafted descriptions for each piece as well as collected artist information for the data visualizations that would follow during development. In phase three, I proceeded to compile all content and data into the site, which required light engineering and some experimentation with plugins such as StoryMap.
At the conclusion of phase three, I shifted to marketing efforts. I launched a poster campaign and presented the exhibit to artists, faculty, and students alike.
